Online Database and Experts

Part One

This week I used Gale Virtual Reference Library (GVRL) and The Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy (SEP) to research natural rights and rights. I prefer GVRL in this case because it gives you an option to cite the article and save it as a pdf, all the options were readily seen without using help and it was more visually appealing with the navigation buttons, making things easier for me.

Part Two

The person I consider an expert is Lloyd he is a professor. I think he's an expert because he has published over 20 articles and that shows that he does research in his field and therefore will have a lot of information. He's also about to teach without any notes of his own.

Wikipedia and My Research Topic

I think that Wikipedia is a good way to share information albeit it has flaws but I think that it is improving. The videos were very informative in describing Wikipedia and how we should treat the information found on the site. I was surprised that it's not that far from Encyclopedia Britannica though in regards to the errors contained in it. I think Wikipedia is heading in a good direction with regards to having editors and even medical student, which will be sources of authority, to edit articles pertaining to their field.

After going through some Wikipedia articles and the links from the 'social justice' search, I would like to research the topic of rights. My focus will include what are rights, the different kind of rights, the nature of rights, etc and I will try to discuss how the information applies or relates to inequality and social justice. I'm interested in this topic because I visited a link from the Wikipedia social justice search, under the 'Notes' section #47, https://mises.org/library/injustice-social-justice, and I found it interesting because it discussed that social justice movements are ill based because many of the young people supporting them don't know what a 'right' is. I often question what do I really have a right to, so that's why I chose rights, because I want to learn myself.
